If you are taking the AP EXAM, please ask your homeroom teacher if it is okay for you to come to my classroom, Tuesday, during EOC testing, so that we may STUDY.  :)

APUSH – Compare/Contrast Essay due Monday, March 1, 2010

Write a Compare/Contrast Essay about the Food Industry of the 1900s and the Food Industry of the 2000s. Using the Chapter 28  – Progressivism and the movie Food, Inc as your base of reference. Topics you may want to include: Big Business, Poor and unsafe working conditions, Animal Cruelty, food labeling, worker’s problems, and government involvement.

The essay should be at least 2-pages typed, double-spaced, and 12-inch font. There is no need for works cited, unless you use a source other than your textbook or the movie (ex. if you quote The Jungle, you MUST have a works cited page).

Have fun, and be creative. :)

2nd period wanted to add: Chemical enhancements to cover up smells or to control e-coli AND GMOs (genetically modified)

Remember to pick up your Black History Month “Extra Credit” opportunity instructions from my classroom.

The Black History Inventor posters are due, to me, no later than February 18, 2010. They have to be transported by another teacher to the judging site, so there can be no exceptions to that due date.

Remember, if you complete this assignment, you can replace your lowest grade (any category) with a 100.

APUSH

Well, it doesn’t look like we are going to have school, again, tomorrow. Please listen to the lecturepoint for “The United States is 1900.” Read Chapter 27, about the Spanish-American War, and complete the Workbook for Chapter 27 by Wednesday,February 3rd.
